Privacy policy

At DW Trading we collect and process only the data we need to deliver the course, the community access, and the services you have signed up for. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under data protection law.

This policy aims to meet the standards of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union, the UK GDPR, and applicable US state privacy laws.

Who we are

The data controller for this site is Social Meister LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company operating as DW Trading. Contact details are listed on the Legal notice page. Email contact for all data requests: admin@dwtradingfx.com.

Social Meister LLC is based in the United States. We are not established in the European Union or the United Kingdom. We rely on the contact channel above to handle data requests from users in any jurisdiction.

What data we collect

Account data

• Email address (required to create an account).
• First name (optional, used to personalise course communications).
• Tier and subscription status (free, Standard member, Premium member, Mentoring client).
• Course progress (which lessons you have completed).
• Trading journal entries you create inside the portal.
• Discord username if you connect your Discord account via Whop.

Mentor access (optional, invitation-only)

Selected users receive a mentor code from David that unlocks an option in their settings to share their trading journal with him for coaching review. Sharing is opt-in even after redeeming a code, and revocable at any time. While sharing, David can view your trades, screenshots, calendar, and stats. He cannot edit or delete anything. Every view is logged and visible to you in your settings.

Payment data

We do not store credit card or banking details on our servers. All payments are processed by Whop, our payment provider. Whop returns to us only the information we need to grant access: your subscription tier, billing status, and renewal date.

Technical data

• IP address (logged temporarily by Vercel for security and abuse-prevention purposes).
• Browser type and device type (for analytics and bug fixes).
• Cookies needed for authentication.

Communication data

• Emails you send to us at admin@dwtradingfx.com.
• Direct messages you send to David through Discord, treated as business correspondence.

Why we collect this data

• To create and manage your account.
• To deliver the course content and community access you signed up for.
• To process payments and handle subscriptions.
• To send transactional emails such as welcome, password reset, and receipt confirmations.
• To send course-related emails when you are subscribed to the free course funnel or one of the membership audiences.
• To respond to your questions and provide support.
• To improve the product based on aggregated usage patterns.
• To comply with legal obligations.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

• Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)) for everything required to deliver the services you signed up for.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for marketing communications outside transactional contexts. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any email.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) for fraud prevention, abuse-prevention logging, and aggregated product analytics.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) for record-keeping required by tax and accounting law.

Who we share data with

We use a small set of trusted service providers to operate the service. We share only the data each provider needs to perform its role. Each provider acts as a data processor under our control.

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where applicable we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR) and equivalent safeguards provided by each processor.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.

How long we keep data

• Active account data: for as long as your account is active.
• Cancelled account data: for 12 months after cancellation, then deleted automatically. You can request earlier deletion by emailing admin@dwtradingfx.com.
• Journal entries: deleted on account deletion. You can also export or delete individual entries any time from the portal.
• Email logs: retained for 30 days by Resend for deliverability purposes, then deleted.
• Payment and billing records: retained for the period required by US tax and accounting law.

Your rights

Under GDPR, UK GDPR, and applicable US state laws you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erase your data, subject to legal retention obligations.
• Restrict processing in certain situations.
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
• Data portability for data you provided to us.
• Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent.
• Complain to your local data protection authority.

Send all data requests to admin@dwtradingfx.com. We respond within one month, in line with Art. 12(3) GDPR.

Cookies

We use a small set of functional cookies needed for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. The cookies we use are:

• Supabase auth cookies: keep you signed in.
• CSRF token cookie: protects login and signup forms from cross-site forgery.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out and prevent you from accessing member content.

Children

This service is not directed at people under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, please contact us at admin@dwtradingfx.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will notify active account holders by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
